What is the DASH-NY Policy Database?

The DASH-NY Policy Database is where advocates, researchers and policymakers can find information about obesity prevention policies and the related evidence-base, in addition to information about where these policies are being implemented and which national organizations are supporting them.

How do I use it?

You can search for policy ideas in the search bar, or you can browse all policies and literature to find information that may help inform your research, policy advocacy or programs. Once in the browse mode, you can narrow your results. You can also contribute to the database by suggesting additional policies or literature.

Who built this database?

DASH-NY is New York State‚Äôs Obesity Prevention Policy Center, funded by the New York State Department of Health, and staffed by The New York Academy of Medicine in New York City. It encourages all New Yorkers to make healthy choices by engaging multiple sectors in creating policy, systems and environmental changes that will end the epidemic of obesity.

The policy strategies included in this database were identified through a review of the evidence-base. Articles related to each policy are collected from the peer reviewed literature and other credible reports and documents. Feel free to submit policy ideas and literature through the online forms:
